Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide education and training on inpatient coding practices
  • Facilitate staff development initiatives
  • Conduct orientation for new coders
  • Manage coding inquiries and provide expert guidance
  • Act as a subject matter expert in coding
  • Resolve coding-related issues
  • Utilize coding technologies effectively
  • Standardize documentation practices
  • Drive process improvements in coding
  • Review and provide feedback on E&M levels selected by physicians monthly to enhance awareness and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient coding
  • At least 3 years of experience as a trainer, educator, auditor, or manager in inpatient coding
