Job Summary

Magellan Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Military and Family Life Therapist to provide counseling services to children of military service members and their families. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping children and youth in military families and be able to work effectively in school settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-medical, short-term counseling directly to children and youth
  • Support school staff and provide parent training
  • Participate in health and wellness presentations
  • Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations
  • Establish working relationships with community resources
  • Respond to critical incidents and special requests
  • Participate in in-services/training and Quality Improvement committees
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field of study
  • Valid counseling license
  • Minimum 2 years of post-masters supervised clinical experience
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively
  • Understanding and empathy for service members and their families
  • Must pass required background checks
About the Role

This position has the primary responsibility of providing Child and Youth Behavioral counseling services to children of military service members and their families. The therapist will be assigned to Department of Defense schools, community schools, and youth programs. They will provide counseling, training, health presentations, and consultation services to address behavioral health issues affecting children and youth.
