Job Summary:

This Faculty member teaches Studio Art classes such as Ceramics, Jewelry, Small Metals, Sculpture, Painting, Printmaking, 2D Design, 3D Design, and Life Drawing to college level students.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teaches lecture sections to students in various Studio Art classes.
  • Evaluates and advises students on their artistic progress.
  • Develops curricula for Studio Art classes, ensuring alignment with department standards.
  • Maintains high-quality standards in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Recruits and participates in retention efforts to support student success.
  • Serves on committees to contribute to departmental decision-making.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Master's Degree in Visual Arts (MFA) from a regionally accredited institution; or a Master's Degree and 18 graduate credits in visual arts from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
