Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of skilled work in the operation, alteration, maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing systems in commercial buildings and facilities. The successful candidate will be required to work in harsh environments due to weather conditions and mechanical equipment indoors and outdoors, support interim events, and work alternate schedules as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical work in a fast-paced environment, including repetitive movement of heavy objects and working near fast-moving machinery or traffic.
• Operate heavy motorized vehicles and work at elevated heights.
• Perform prolonged periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures, airborne dust, fumes, vapors, chemicals, medical waste, and blood-borne pathogens.
• Participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program and maintain a valid California Driver's License (CDL).

Requirements

• Within 9 months of appointment, possess and maintain a Cross Connection Control Certificate and a Back Flow Prevention Assembly Tester Certificate, as well as a Drinking Water System Distribution Operator Certification.
• Meet the requirements of the State Civil Service Act and the Bargaining Unit contract.
