Job Title: International Trade Specialist

Job Summary:

Loram is seeking a highly skilled International Trade Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with export/import regulations and implementing policies and procedures for trade compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Compliance: Perform and analyze transactions for which due diligence indicates areas of risk for trade compliance, conduct audits to assess export/import compliance, and assist in determining and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Analyze and interpret export and import regulations, maintain current knowledge of changes, and collaborate with all departments to ensure they have implemented effective compliance internal controls into their procedures and work instructions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and verify trade documentation required for import/export clearance, and serve as the main point of contact for import/export activity in coordination with our customs broker.
  • Training and Development: Establish and maintain training and audit/assessment programs to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of internal controls, and provide trade compliance training to employees.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of International Logistics and Distribution experience dealing with customs, freight forwarders, and import/export transactions, 2+ years of experience with export and/or import regulatory compliance, and experience in performing accurate Tariff Classification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Extensive knowledge of international shipping documents, familiarity with export regulations, and expertise in Microsoft applications and general ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Process Improvement: Strong knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques.
  • Logistics Experience: Experience in working with railroad transit/logistics.

Working Conditions:

  • Office Environment: Office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, using phone and computer.
  • Travel: 5% or more travel including international.
