Job Overview:

The Web Development team at B&H Photo is responsible for implementing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring the security of the company's website. The team works closely with other departments such as design, product management, and marketing to ensure that the website meets the needs of both the company and its customers.

The Level 4 Web Developer plays a crucial role in the team, tackling intricate projects and tasks that require advanced skills and knowledge while also providing technical leadership and guidance to junior developers.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Independently creating intricate full-stack code utilizing JavaScript, React, SQL, and some Java.
  • Working on extensive projects and challenging assignments specifically on B&H's flagship website.
  • Writing complex code that integrates front-end and back-end technologies seamlessly.
  • Building dynamic user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks such as React.
  • Handling server-side logic and building scalable applications using JavaScript as a Back-end language.
  • Managing database queries and ensuring efficient data retrieval and manipulation using SQL.
  • Knowledge of Java is beneficial for some legacy application written in Java.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Collaboration with other team members is crucial to ensure the successful completion of projects within specified timelines.
  • Continuous learning and staying updated on the latest technologies and trends in web development are essential for maintaining high performance and delivering quality results.

  • High-level understanding of dynamic E-commerce websites.
  • Knowledge of B&H domain and technical infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of JavaScript technologies.
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented, and efficient research skills.
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills, articulate communicator, and analytical and quick thinker.
  • Knowledge of B&H policies and procedure.
Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years experience writing core JavaScript or a similar language within an e-commerce setting.
