This position can be based in Seattle, WA, or one of our other offices in San Mateo, CA, San Diego, CA, or Honolulu, Hawaii.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct thorough analysis of health plan statistical and financial reports to ensure reasonableness.
- Prepare regular client reports on plan operations and performance, including annual budget projections for income, expenses, and plan reserves.
- Calculate projected plan costs for self-insured coverages, such as medical, dental, prescription drug, and vision benefits.
- Determine COBRA rates, other self-payment rates, and required Employer Contribution rates.
- Analyze the impact of benefit or eligibility modifications on projected costs.
You will also be responsible for coordinating receipt and review of insurance and service provider renewals, preparing Request for Proposals (insurance carriers or service providers), drafting and reviewing plan comparisons, participant notices, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Documents, and amendments as needed.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications- Strong analytical and research skills, with excellent data analysis abilities.
- Good knowledge of statistics and business operations.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
- Familiarity with plan modeling software programs, such as Claros Analytics, is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Business.
- At least three years of experience in a similar role or industry, preferably in the healthcare sector.
This position comes with a competitive base salary, ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
In addition to this, you will be eligible for our annual bonus program, 401(k) with a 5% company contribution, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, disability coverage, ESOP, generous time off, and more.
