Company Overview: Dometic Marine specializes in the development and manufacturing of hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products for the outdoor market.
Role Summary: This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance of CNC machinery. Responsibilities include executing preventative maintenance, diagnosing machine issues, and collaborating with external technicians for repairs. The technician will also assist in maintaining production test and assembly equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to manufacturer and internal guidelines.
- Identify and assess maintenance needs for CNC machines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions, including parts procurement and coordination with external service providers.
- Collaborate with CNC programmers and machinists to address programming and mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation of actions taken.
- Adjust CNC machine parameters as necessary to ensure precision.
- Utilize in-house machining tools to fabricate custom components.
- Replace and configure critical machine components such as servo amplifiers and motors.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by urgent repair needs.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC machine maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Certification as a Canadian Red Seal Millwright or Industrial Electrician is an asset.
- A blend of relevant education and practical experience may also be considered.
- Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Mazatrol, Mori Seiki, and Okuma.
Behavioral Competencies:
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- A strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems related to CNC machinery.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Capability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.
