About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at ThedaCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Plan Care: Utilize the nursing process to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient and interprofessional team.
  • Provide Expert Care: Demonstrate clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and perform all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.
  • Improve Patient Experience: Identify ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Provide consultation and maintain positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.
  • Manage Risk: Demonstrate, anticipate, and proactively manage risk to prevent crises, and perform skillfully in life-threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crisis situations.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Current Wisconsin RN Licensure and Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years.
  • Certifications: American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and other specialty-specific certifications as required by the department.
Work Environment

The Nurse Specialist will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens, and occasionally exposed to sharp objects, instruments, and hazardous materials. The position requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures.

Location

The Nurse Specialist will be based at the Fond du Lac Expansion Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
