Job Summary:The Local Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Drives truck over established route to deliver and sell products while performing the following duties:
- Drives truck to deliver gasses and hard goods to customer's places of business.
- Performs any non-route delivery(s) necessary to provide customers with product.
- Writes customer orders and instructions.
- Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery records.
- Listens to and resolves service complaints.
- Issues sales promotion materials to customers.
- Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise. Loads truck.
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Must have one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or have graduated from an accredited driving school.
- Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement. Hazmat can be obtained post-offer.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Current Medical Examiner's Card.
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
- Ability to routinely lift lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
