Job Title:

Delivery Driver / Shop Associate

Job Summary

This role is responsible for driving a truck to transport materials and equipment to specific construction job sites. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Verify and secure loads
  2. Inspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's condition
  3. Drive the truck to assigned destinations
  4. Assist workers in unloading and loading the truck when required
  5. Maintain the truck log according to state and federal regulations
  6. Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, and fuses
  7. Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle
  8. Convey materials and items from receiving to storage or to other designated areas
  9. Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence
  10. Fulfill work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items
  11. Maintain inventory records
  12. Maintain the cleanliness of the shop/warehouse/storage yard/parking lot/offices as needed
  13. Ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired when necessary, and inspected properly
  14. Utilize a tow-behind trailer to make deliveries and pick-ups
  15. Deliver and pick up permit applications, permits, and approved drawings
  16. Be able to work overtime and off-hour shifts as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 2+ years of related work experience is required
  • Previous purchasing/inventory experience is a plus
  • Vocational or industry trade school is a plus
  • Ability to obtain a current DOT Medical Card is required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required
  • Previous experience operating a forklift is required
  • Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required
