At International at Aventura Senior Living, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Memory Care Director to lead our Memory Care Community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the health and quality of life initiatives in our Memory Care Community.
Key Responsibilities:- Overall Planning and Direction: Develop and direct memory care services and team in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, as well as established policies and procedures at the Community, to maximize fulfilling the care-giving needs of residents.
- Leadership and Team Management: Promote a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents, team members, families, and guests. Lead a team to assist in the welcome and orientation of new residents, ensuring all admission documents are complete, accurate, and received within appropriate time frames.
- Communication and Collaboration: Participate and represent the Memory Care Community during daily meetings, ensuring effective communication occurs between wellness and memory care team members assigned to different shifts.
- Professional Development: Expand personal development, skills, and knowledge of activity programs as it relates to seniors with moderate to severe memory impairments in a long-term care setting.
- Education and Licensure: Hold an active LPN or RN license (preferred, not required).
- Experience: Have 5 or more years of Assisted Living community experience, with progressive supervisory experience, and 2 or more years of direct engagement and interaction with Memory Care residents.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate good communication skills, to be able to work with residents, families, physicians, and team members. Show passion and dedication to the well-being and potential of each resident.
- Certifications: It is required that the Memory Care Director holds a current First Aid and CPR certification.
