Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Spiritual Support: Offer spiritual comfort and guidance to residents through listening, prayer, and biblical consolation.
  • Resident Intake and Support: Assist with resident intakes, distribute essential items, and ensure a smooth transition into our program.
  • Medication Management: Accurately administer and document medication for residents, ensuring their health and well-being.
  • Transportation and Safety: Safely transport residents to and from appointments, and maintain a secure environment for all residents, employees, and volunteers.
  • Documentation and Administration: Maintain accurate records and perform administrative tasks to support the efficient delivery of our ministry's purpose.
  • Volunteer Supervision: Supervise, train, and coach volunteers to ensure they are equipped to provide excellent support to our residents.
  • Representation and Communication: Represent KARM with professionalism and compassion, communicating effectively with residents, volunteers, donors, and partner agencies.
  • Crisis Intervention and Support: Respond to crisis situations with empathy and maturity, providing a safe and supportive environment for residents.
Requirements
  • Christian Values and Beliefs: Share the Gospel and demonstrate Christian values and beliefs when interacting with residents, peers, and the public.
  • Compassion and Boundaries: Show compassion, set appropriate limits, and exercise mature judgment regarding service restrictions.
  • Understanding of Trauma and Addiction: Possess a basic understanding of trauma, mental illness, alcohol and drug addiction issues, physical and sexual abuse, and poverty, and know how to communicate effectively with residents affected by these issues.
  • Crisis Management and De-escalation: Safely defuse tense situations and de-escalate potentially harmful or violent situations.
  • Technical Skills: Be a competent user of Microsoft Office applications and other office equipment.
  • Leadership and Flexibility: Demonstrate the ability to give direction to others, exhibit high flexibility, and resourcefulness.
  • Education and Experience: Possess an Associate's degree or equivalent education and experience, with 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: Display basic organizational and follow-up skills.
Working Conditions
  • Secure Facility: Work in a secure facility where residential services are provided.
  • Stressful Client Situations: Be prepared to handle stressful client situations requiring compassion and discernment.
  • Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require walking, standing, sitting, bending, and minimal lifting.
  • Attendance and Special Events: Attend meetings and occasional special events.
