Job Title: PRN Dietary Aide

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team at Crown Point Retirement Center. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service to our residents while ensuring the highest quality of food and nutrition services.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required, adhering to dietary orders and regulations.
  • Serve meals in the health center pantries, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Set up and break down tables in the health center dining room(s), ensuring a pleasant dining experience for residents.
  • Transport hot and cold foods, as well as non-food items, to and from the health center pantries, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Wash and sanitize silver, glass, and china in dish machines, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Provide health center snacks and supplements per diet orders, ensuring residents receive the necessary nutrition.
  • Maintain stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
  • Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Take orders, provide service, and requested items in a gracious and courteous manner.
  • Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
  • Answer pertinent questions about menu items, providing residents with accurate information.
  • Ensure that orders match Physician's diet orders, adhering to medical regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions.
  • Previous experience in nursing home food service is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers, requiring empathy for the elderly.
