We are currently in search of a Lead Financial Accountant for Aegis Worldwide, a prominent manufacturer specializing in custom industrial solutions. In this role, you will be instrumental in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, cost accounting, and ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) across all documentation. A candidate with experience in SOX compliance is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to evaluate and recommend improvements in new processes, policies, and systems with respect to the SOX program, including assessing control designs based on identified risks.
  • Strong proficiency in general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Experience in manufacturing cost accounting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ERP financial systems; experience with AS400 is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate financial reports that detail the organization's assets, liabilities, profits and losses, tax obligations, and other financial activities.
  • Conduct standard cost accounting reviews for materials and finished products, assist in accurate inventory reporting, and prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, inventories, fixed assets, and liabilities, while providing necessary information to external auditors during financial audits.
  • Assist in evaluating new processes, policies, and systems for their relevance and impact on the SOX program, including assessing control designs based on identified risks.
  • Support the execution of cycle counts and annual physical inventories, conduct product margin reporting and analysis, and perform additional related duties as assigned.
