Description

This is a full-time faculty role situated at the Arkansas Fire Training Academy in Camden, AR. The individual in this position will operate under the guidance of the Deputy Director of the Academy.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee statewide training initiatives for the EMS division.

• Organize and manage educational classes.

• Collaborate closely with the Deputy Director regarding the operations of the Academy's sites.

• Schedule instructors for various classes.

• Coordinate the utilization of classrooms and training equipment.

• Maintain training equipment in optimal condition.

• Liaise with external agencies as necessary.

• Establish a timetable for EMS classes, including instructor assignments and class durations.

• Solicit, coordinate, and deliver diverse EMS training programs to both career and volunteer fire departments.

• Update existing Academy programs and create new training initiatives.

• Develop and prepare instructional materials, including written content, audiovisual aids, and training props.

• Conduct assessments and evaluations.

• Identify potential candidates for adjunct instructor roles.

• Serve as a liaison between the fire service and the Arkansas Fire Training Academy.

• Attend relevant fire service meetings and training sessions.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience: Minimum of five years in the fire and EMS service sector.

Certifications & Licenses: Firefighter II; Fire Instructor I; ADH Paramedic Instructor
