Overview of Responsibilities
The primary function of this role is to conduct routine maintenance, thorough inspections, and necessary repairs on heavy machinery equipped with various gasoline and diesel engines. This position entails preparing work orders and requisitioning parts and tools essential for repair tasks.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This job description aims to provide a representative summary of the key responsibilities and tasks typically performed by individuals in this role. Employees may be assigned additional job-related duties beyond those explicitly outlined here.
- Diagnose and repair trucks and heavy machinery
- Execute all required repairs to ensure fleet operability
- Procure the appropriate parts for equipment repairs
- Maintain electronic documentation of repairs and time spent on tasks
- Provide preventative maintenance services for all heavy machinery
- Research and request parts as necessary
- Uphold a clean and organized work environment
- Perform related duties as assigned
Working Hours: 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Schedule: Four 10-hour workdays, with a rotation of Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, with training in automotive, heavy equipment, or light equipment repair, including gasoline or diesel engines
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or small engine mechanical repair and maintenance; or relevant state certifications
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that equips the individual with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License, Class A with an N Endorsement, or the ability to obtain one within the six-month probationary period.
