Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate CT equipment and perform diagnostic procedures. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT equipment to perform basic to advanced diagnostic procedures
  • Obtain medical history from patients and compare requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy
  • Position patients and select proper scanning factors, adjusting factors to attain the appropriate images
  • Provide radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the physician
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology
