Job Title: Certified Hand/Occupational Therapist

EmergeOrtho is a leading provider of comprehensive musculoskeletal care in North Carolina. We are seeking a skilled Certified Hand/Occupational Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing patient evaluations and treatments, including documentation as required by the state licensing board. They will also supervise therapy assistants, technicians, and ancillary staff, and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, caseworkers, and insurance companies.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient evaluations and develop treatment plans to improve functional abilities and independence.
  • Provide occupational therapy services, including activities of daily living, sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
  • Consult with the rehabilitation team to select activity programs consistent with patient needs and capabilities.
  • Design and construct special equipment for patients and suggest adaptations to their work-living environment.
  • Teach patients skills and techniques required for participation in activities and evaluate patient progress.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs in hospital, institutional, or community settings.
  • Test and evaluate patient physical and mental abilities and analyze medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals.
  • Evaluate patient progress and prepare reports detailing progress.
  • Complete and maintain necessary records.
  • Train caregivers on providing for patient needs during and after therapy.
  • Recommend changes to patient work or living environments consistent with their needs and capabilities.
Requirements:
  • Licensed as an Occupational/Hand Therapist in North Carolina.
  • Certified Hand Therapist preferred but other candidates will be considered.
  • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
  • Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • New graduate acceptable but outpatient clinical experience required.
  • Previous experience in an Orthopaedic rehab setting, preferably outpatient setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure when confronted with stressful situations.
