We are currently seeking a dynamic and personable Activities Director to oversee our community's activity programs. This role is essential in creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that caters to the diverse interests of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a variety of events and programs aimed at enriching the assisted living experience and enhancing residents' quality of life.
- Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of programs to ensure they meet the diverse needs of all residents.
- Develop a creative and engaging weekly activity schedule that fosters participation and enjoyment for all residents.
- Facilitate family-centered programming on a regular basis to encourage involvement and simplify scheduling.
- Lead and manage one-on-one, small group, and large group activities according to the established programming calendar.
- Encourage and support residents in pursuing independent activities, both individually and in small groups.
- Recognize that all aspects of care can be viewed as an opportunity for engagement and activity.
- Create and distribute a high-quality monthly newsletter and calendar, along with a daily activity schedule, through our internal communication platform.
- Supervise and support programming associates, including transportation and community drivers.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of aging and disability issues.
- Demonstrated experience and training in developing appropriate programs for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- Proven management and leadership skills.
- Previous experience working with senior populations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office is advantageous.
