Key Responsibilities of an Imaging Specialist

  • Engage directly with patients and assist radiologists and/or medical staff while performing X-ray examinations as per physician directives.
  • Proficiently operate imaging equipment, conduct various imaging procedures, manage the picture archiving system, utilize radiographic materials including contrast, all while ensuring patient care and safety in line with departmental standards.
  • Carry out essential clerical and maintenance tasks such as cleaning examination areas, managing phone communications, entering data into computer systems, retrieving information (HIS, RIS, PACS), and adhering to infection control protocols.

Qualifications for an Imaging Specialist

  • ARRT certification as an Imaging Specialist.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
