Substation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to join our team at American Transmission Co. As a Substation Engineer, you will be responsible for technical design, oversight, and review of project engineering work in support of the development and implementation of our substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leverage your experience in power systems design, build, or operation of power generation, FACTS devices, or T&D systems to assist in the scoping, design, and construction of transmission substations and transmission support resource projects.

• Work with internal and external teams and service providers to design and oversee the development of design documents to ensure they are compliant with ATC's design engineering guides, standards, and good utility practices.

• Coordinate reviews of project estimates for cost and scope accuracy and provide technical input to obtain services from external consultants.

• Use your Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering to support our construction department during the construction phase of projects by resolving technical and engineering problems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in power systems design, build, or operation of power generation, FACTS devices, or T&D systems.

• Strong technical skills and knowledge of design engineering guides, standards, and good utility practices.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external teams and service providers.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
