At King Street Oyster Bar, we're looking for a skilled Host/Hostess to join our team. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your role will be to ensure that every guest feels welcome and valued, from the moment they walk in the door to the moment they leave.

Responsibilities:

* Greet guests as they enter and show them to their table or waiting area.
* Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions.
* Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas.
* Assign guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
* Engage with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
* Respond to complaints and help resolve them.
* Answer phone calls, take reservations, and answer questions.
* Have a knowledge of the menu.
* Help out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
* Provide great customer service.

Requirements:

* Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
* Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
* High-quality work while unsupervised.
* Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
* Ability to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
* Willingness to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
* Ability to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
* Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment.
* Restaurant experience a plus.
