About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our Mining team in the southwestern United States. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing piping systems for various mining operations, with a focus on copper processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop piping systems for mining operations, ensuring compliance with relevant safety codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects, including scoping, asset assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, ensuring that all applicable safety codes and regulations are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing engineering support to meet their needs and incorporating client suggestions for future requirements.
  • Mentor younger engineers and contribute to the growth and development of our team.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineering license or the ability to obtain one.
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy industry, particularly surface or underground mining.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Lead Engineer on detailed engineering/construction projects with a consulting firm or Owner's team.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable design codes (ASME B31, API650, IPC, UBC, ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc) and familiarity with Mine Health and Safety Regulations.

At Stantec, we offer a competitive salary range of $93,400 - $135,400, depending on location and experience.
