Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant position is a vital role in supporting patient care under the direct supervision of a healthcare provider. This position requires a skilled and compassionate individual to assist with patient care services, including preparation for examination or treatment, gathering of information, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care services with the healthcare team, ensuring accurate documentation and timely patient flow.
  • Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, documenting findings in the electronic medical record.
  • Collect and/or assist providers in collecting specimens, adhering to infection control standards.
  • Assist with special procedures and examinations, maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms.
  • Communicate with patients, both in person and via phone, to gather data.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a CNA, experienced utilization of Electronic Health Records (EHR), and experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort

This role operates in a healthcare setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, and computer work. The employee must be able to stand 75% or longer of the workday, walk 15% or longer of the workday, and sit 10% of the workday.

The employee must also be able to lift and maneuver up to 35 pounds occasionally, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level occasionally, and twist occasionally. Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, and computer use is also required.
