At Memorial Hospital - Bakersfield, we offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in the Cardiac Cath Lab. This 13-week contract position requires a skilled professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-acuity setting.
The successful candidate will work in a state-of-the-art Cardiac Cath Lab with 5 suites, handling various cases, including cardiac/coronary, vascular, peripheral, general interventional radiology, and neuro intervention. They will be responsible for basic EKG interpretation tests during orientation and critical care RNs will have more extensive interpretation tests, including STEMI and procedural sedation curriculum.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will provide moderate and conscious sedation, manage procedural processes, airway management, and cardiac drips (such as Integrilin, dopamine, and vasopressins), as well as balloon pumps. Scrubbing is not required, and they will participate in call rotation for inpatient and emergent cases.
In this role, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for documentation using the Cath lab's GI MAC Lab EMR system and collaborate with techs and support staff during cases. The Charge Nurse is responsible for patients in the pre/post-procedure holding room, and hospital-provided scrub colors are available. Flexibility to float when needed with no cancellations beyond three times per contract is also expected.
