Chief Estimator Opportunity

Tiello is partnering with a leading construction team in the Wet Utility Construction Industry to find a skilled Chief Estimator for their Orange County operations.

As a key member of the team, you will lead project estimating teams for wet utility, water, sewer, storm, and underground pipeline-related projects in Southern California. Your expertise will help build strong relationships with clients and contribute to the team's success in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required estimate contents.
  • Manage an estimating team, ensuring completed estimates meet deadlines and include accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing.
  • Organize estimating teams to prepare bids, oversee vendor and subcontractor selection, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead estimating teams in pre-construction efforts and GMP development on CMAR and Progressive Design-Build projects.
  • Monitor client changes and advise the estimating team on scope changes during the estimated period.
  • Attend pre-bid walkthroughs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Chief, Lead, or Senior Estimator for reputable Civil Contractors.
  • Experience estimating wet underground utilities, water, sewer, storm, private, and underground pipelines projects.
  • Strong work ethic, team player with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical, and sound judgment skills.
