Position Overview

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Clinical Assistant Professor specializing in Adult Interventional Radiology.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves performing a range of interventional radiology procedures on critically ill patients, both trauma and non-trauma cases. Key procedures include:

  • Non-coronary angiograms, including cerebral angiograms
  • Embolization and stent placements for injured blood vessels
  • Minimally invasive percutaneous procedures
  • Percutaneous biopsies and drainages
  • Evaluation and interpretation of imaging studies such as x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supervising residents and fellows in the field of Interventional Radiology.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Possession of a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) or eligibility for CAQ
  • Board certification or eligibility
  • Completion of an accredited residency program
  • Preferred sub-specialty certifications or training
  • Current, unrestricted medical licensure in Tennessee
  • Possession of a current DEA certification
  • Eligibility for malpractice insurance

While relocation is not mandatory, the position requires onsite work.
