Better Debt Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial integrity, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, verify, and report financial information to accurately document the company's financial performance and position, supporting well-informed decision-making.
  • Assist in drafting annual budgets, preparing forecasting requirements, and projecting expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain cash flow reports, including treasury cash summaries and monthly cash flow projections, to support liquidity management.
  • Generate detailed budgets, KPI reports, forecasts, and executive-level financial reports, providing key insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries and perform account reconciliations for treasury, revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers and other financial records, ensuring accuracy and supporting the overall accounting system.
  • Collaborate with the operations department to calculate monthly commissions and handle various ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory deliverables while fostering collaboration, accountability, and transparency.
  • Provide support for various finance-related assignments and special projects, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Participate in developing and improving internal financial controls and accounting processes to enhance efficiency and minimize risks.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns and liaise with tax authorities to maintain compliance with tax regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or operational improvements.
  • Assist with system upgrades or transitions related to accounting software and financial reporting tools, ensuring smooth integration with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis to support long-term business planning and investment decisions.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving financial processes and enhancing overall business performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience preferably in financial services or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Big4, Mid-Tier experience is preferred but not required.
