Job Summary

As a Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist with Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating, diagnosing, and developing effective therapy programs to improve patients' communicative abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with communication and swallowing disorders to determine the most effective treatment approach.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to address patients' specific needs.
  • Administer diagnostic tests and provide treatment to adults and children with various communication disorders, voice impairments, and neurological defects.
  • Collaborate with physicians to recommend and implement appropriate treatments.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment programs as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and present in-service programs to educate staff on specialized areas of speech pathology.
  • Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations and interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
  • Document patients' progress and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • One year of clinical experience in dysphasia management and speech pathology.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) and National Provider Identifier.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods of speech therapy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
