Position Summary:
The Automation Systems Specialist (ASS) plays a crucial role in supporting the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems. This position operates under minimal supervision and adheres to company policies while ensuring the efficiency and reliability of automation setups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble automation systems according to specified designs.
- Provide setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes.
- Collaborate with third-party integrators to assist in the design and implementation of automation projects.
- Conduct testing of systems, devices, and instruments, documenting procedures and performance results.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and tools necessary for testing and maintenance.
- Learn and document best practices for operators in relation to manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with production management and engineering teams to identify and resolve manufacturing constraints.
- Perform additional duties as required based on workload and business needs.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or completion of 1-2 years of college-level engineering coursework.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Operational knowledge of industrial machinery, including lathes, mills, and presses.
- Experience with Universal Robotics or similar collaborative robotics platforms.
- Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD/CAM software, with a preference for SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with common industrial sensors and actuators.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and measurement devices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings effectively.
