The Certified Medication Aide plays a vital role in delivering quality care to patients at Westside Village Nursing Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for administering medications, documenting patient information, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities- Medication Administration: Accurately and safely prepare, administer, store, and document oral and/or topical medications as directed by attending physicians.
- Medication Error Prevention: Assist in developing and implementing procedures to assess potential medication errors, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including medication administration records and other relevant data.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare team members, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless delivery of care, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Adherence to Policies: Maintain a thorough understanding of and adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a State-approved CNA program and certification as a Certified Medication Aide.
- Experience: One year of geriatric nursing experience preferred; CPR certification upon hire or during orientation.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
