Job Summary

The Charge Nurse position is a critical role that requires a skilled and experienced professional to lead and manage the clinical and operational needs of individual inpatient care areas. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for facilitating and supporting the clinical and operational needs of the team, ensuring safe throughput and access to care, and collaborating with leaders and staffing resource office to ensure adequate staffing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring safe throughput and access to care
  • Collaborate with leaders and staffing resource office to ensure adequate staffing
  • Accurately document within labor management software to ensure fiscal stewardship
  • Serve as a resource for team members, facilitating adherence to policies and clinical practice guidelines
  • Support patient experience through support of team member identified needs, patient rounding, service recovery, and problem-solving
  • Manage care environment to ensure regulatory and safety standards are met
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing BSN/MSN program
  • RN Clinician 2 or higher with 6 months of experience on the unit or previous Charge Nurse experience from another unit/organization
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required, as well as attention to detail and ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull lbs. may be required, and the job may involve exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
