Physician - Hospitalist - Regional Float - Southwest MI

Corewell Health is seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician to join their team as a Regional Float Physician for our community hospitals providing exceptional care for hospitalized individuals and families.
This physician will work a 7 on 7 off schedule for a total of 175 shifts per year. All day shifts; no nights. The Float position can be scheduled at any of our community hospitals, including Ludington Hospital, Gerber Hospital, Big Rapids Hospital, Greenville Hospital, Zeeland Hospital, or Pennock Hospital.
Schedule is set 6 months in advance, and the Float Physician will spend no less than a full week at any one location to provide continuity of patient care.
Some procedures and vent management are required; tele-ICU physician available for consults through state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment.
Essential Functions- Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
- Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost-effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
- Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they relate to medical practice and quality patient care.
- Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
- Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
- Communicates with other members of the healthcare team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
- Acts as a patient/family advocate.
- License - Michigan MD/DO
- BE/BC Internal Medicine Residency or Family Medicine Residency (with demonstrated strong inpatient experience)
- Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certification - Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
