Job Summary

The Medical Scribe plays a vital role in facilitating patient flow through the clinic and ensuring an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with documentation of patient medical charts during visits
  • Record patient information, including medical history, medications, and allergies
  • Accompany physicians into patient examination areas to transcribe medical histories and physical examinations
  • Document patient encounters, including diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up instructions
  • Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure timely completion of patient orders
  • Provide pre- and post-operative patient education and education materials
  • Assist with minor in-office procedures, including numbing patients and obtaining consent forms
Requirements
  • High school graduate
  • Certification in Medical Assisting
  • CPR Certification
  • Excellent penmanship and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations
  • Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to learn the basics of ENT
