Job Title: Special Education Inclusion Teacher

Wayne County School District is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Inclusion Teacher to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Inclusion Teacher will work under the general supervision of the School Principal to maximize the learning experience of students with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Special Education principles, theories, and methods, as well as experience in implementing district-approved curriculum and developing Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations of students to identify learning issues and recommend courses of action.
  • Develop and implement IEPs for students, in collaboration with teaching staff and outside agencies.
  • Provide counseling and support to students and parents to promote personal growth, self-understanding, and behavioral management.
  • Coordinate with administrators and teaching staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Organize and maintain accurate and complete record-keeping, and provide student information to prospective colleges and employers.
Requirements:
  • State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • Masters degree in Special Education preferred.
  • Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
Working Conditions:

The Special Education Inclusion Teacher will work in a standard office and school building environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
