Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Department Head in improving the quality of patient care and services
  • Provide considerate and respectful care focused on individual patient needs
  • Affirm patients' rights to make decisions regarding their medical care
  • Obtain and interpret information to determine nursing diagnoses and needs
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Administer medications and take immediate action in medication variance occurrences
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning meetings
  • Provide education to patients and families
  • Conduct unit-based education programs
  • Meet documentation standards for patient education
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and take immediate action
  • Delegate components of care to non-professional caregivers
  • Makes decisions that demonstrate knowledge of nursing practice
  • Develops new clinical pathways and monitors patient progress
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing must be obtained within 3 years from date of hire
  • 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required
  • 2 years of supervisory/charge experience preferred
  • RN License/New Jersey required
  • BLS Certification required
  • Certification in specialty must be obtained within 2 years of hire/promotion
