Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifeguard to join our team at MICDS. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons in the pool area and enforcing all pool rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Water Safety and Surveillance: Responsible for the safety of all patrons in the pool area and for the enforcement of all pool rules and regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Maintenance and Operations: Performs basic water chemical tests and performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Customer Service: Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Training and Development: Attends and participates in in-service training sessions.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: At least six months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer w/AED and First Aid.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions, skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques, ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies, knowledge of customer service standards and procedures, ability to prepare routine paperwork, knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Other Information
  • Criminal Background Check: A criminal history and background check is required and must be successfully completed.
  • CPR Certification: CPR certified.
  • Certification Maintenance: Must maintain Certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training.
