- Position Summary:
The Machine Repair Specialist is tasked with the upkeep and repair of all client machinery.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Conducting inspections, monitoring, repairing, and maintaining intricate company machinery (including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems).
- Replacing or repairing faulty components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Maintaining and calibrating various equipment (such as CNC machines, vacuum pumps, oil systems, and water heaters).
- Performing thorough inspections to identify potential issues and prevent operational downtime.
- Responding promptly to machine downtime incidents with a sense of urgency.
- Reviewing manufacturers' service manuals and maintenance records to develop and uphold a preventative maintenance schedule for each machine.
- Keeping detailed records of planned and completed maintenance tasks.
- Collaborating with production managers to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.
- Cleaning machinery, tools, and components while performing necessary maintenance.
- Troubleshooting machine-related issues effectively.
- Assisting in training employees on the Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Fabricating and assembling equipment as needed.
- Monitoring and documenting inventory usage (tools, supplies, and raw materials) and notifying relevant personnel.
- Managing cooling water filter changes.
- Conducting basic troubleshooting and diagnostics of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Upholding housekeeping and safety standards in the work environment.
- Completing training programs both internally and externally as required.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Job Competencies:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety regulations, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Strong technical and mechanical skills.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented and organized approach.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fraction/decimal conversions).
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in machine maintenance. Preference will be given to candidates with 5+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly desirable.
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of machinery involving electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; understanding of safety regulations (OSHA) applicable to various machines.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, employees are frequently required to stand, reach with arms and hands, and exhibit hand and finger dexterity. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary, along with the ability to communicate effectively. Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
