As a Transportation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients and equipment to and from various appointments, clinics, and facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to excellence, patient care, and safety standards.

  • Transport patients in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and in working order, and report any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital staff to receive relevant data and instructions, and to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Inspect vehicles prior to use to ensure safe and comfortable patient transport, and report any concerns or issues.
  • Assist with transferring and balancing patients, ensuring their physical and overall comfort.
  • Follow all patient safety and vehicle safety requirements, and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Notify staff of any changes in patient condition or behavior, and take appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
  • May be required to work during inclement weather or other staffing emergencies.
  • Provide a safe and respectful environment for patients, visitors, and staff, and assess risks to ensure compliance with safety and infection prevention standards.
  • Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned to support the effectiveness of the organization.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR card required.
  • Six months van transport experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • A significant amount of sitting, driving, and reaching, often for prolonged periods of time.
  • Both gross and precise motor functions.
  • Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to hear overhead pages.
