MU Health Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in delivering exceptional patient care in the Preoperative Care department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing effective nursing interventions, and ensuring the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient.
- Assess, intervene, and reassess patient self-report/symptoms of pain promptly.
- Utilize an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or the FLACC).
- Demonstrate an understanding of medications with regards to action and side effects, and report pertinent information to the appropriate individual.
- Educate patients and significant others about their medications.
- Demonstrate the ability to evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
- Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.
- Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
- Full understanding of the attendance and punctuality guidelines, and adhere to the dress code.
- Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. physicians, head nurse, charge nurse, and/or nursing supervisor) and record those observations accurately and concisely.
- Provide quality care to patients and work with multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.
- Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.
- One (1) year of acute care and/or operating room RN experience.
