Responsibilities- Retrieve cleaning supplies, set up cleaning carts, and maintain carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms.
- Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways, using ladders or stools to clean hard-to-reach areas.
- Replace towels, soaps, and room amenities, and restock literature that has been removed or is soiled.
- Wash hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings, including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners.
- Strip and remake beds with fresh linens, checking bedspreads, blankets, and bed pads for cleanliness.
- Lift mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under beds.
- Check closets for cleanliness, wiping closet doors, handles, and overhead shelves, and restocking guest room supplies.
- Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, operating vacuums weighing up to 25lbs, and lifting/moving heavy furniture.
- Inspect door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and report any issues to management.
- Inspect room equipment to ensure proper working order and report any deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies at all times.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
No formal education or training is required. Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment is necessary.
Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing is required.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of this job include lifting up to 50lbs continually throughout a shift, pushing, pulling, and moving levers, equipment, and furniture, working with arms raised above head, and maneuvering a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and into/out of closets.
Ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas and to read written instructions and computer print-outs is necessary.
EnvironmentThis job involves prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor climate-controlled environment, with excessive heat and humidity in the laundry area.
