Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet customers immediately, in-person and by telephone, and ascertain the nature of their business. Answer telephone calls and provide information to callers or route calls to the appropriate individual.
  • Transaction Processing: Receive checking and savings deposits, verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back, and issue receipts of deposits.
  • Account Maintenance: Process savings withdrawals, cash checks, redeem U.S. Savings Bonds, process cash advances, verify endorsement, receive proper identification, and ensure validity.
  • Financial Analysis: Identify counterfeit currency, identify fraudulent checks, check for proper endorsements, and answer customer account inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account history.
  • Cross-Selling: Identify customers' financial needs, cross-sell bank products and services, and refer customers to FFBLA specialists who provide specific products or services.
  • Card Services: Issue Debit and ATM cards, perform Debit and ATM card maintenance, and sell and prepare official bank checks.
  • Loan Processing: Accept loan payments and collection items, verify payment amount, and issue receipts.
  • Cash Handling: Balance cash drawers daily, including periodic trail balancing and batching of checks, secure cash drawers, and maintain daily cash limits.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience: A minimum of six (6) months cash handling and related customer service experience required; previous bank teller experience preferred.
  • Skills: Must understand basic bank products and services, and have the ability to explain bank product features and benefits.
