Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in daily meetings with team members and inmates to discuss the status of vehicle repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Identify necessary components for repair completion, including parts and tools.
  • Evaluate and prioritize repair tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to determine repair requirements.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into the automated fleet management system.
  • Facilitate training sessions for inmates using recognized study materials.
  • Secure all tools and equipment at the end of each workday.
  • Drive vehicles for state-related tasks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Within the first year of employment, candidates are expected to obtain specific certifications related to vehicle inspection and maintenance. A minimum of five years of relevant experience at a journeyman level is preferred.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Successful candidates must pass a background check, drug screening, and medical examination. A valid driver's license and appropriate commercial driver license are required within the initial months of employment.
