Award-Winning Inpatient Nocturnist Opportunity in the Piedmont Triad Region
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic inpatient nocturnist team at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist's Hospital Medicine Department in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team. As an inpatient nocturnist, you will be responsible for overseeing all admitted hospitalist patients during the night shift in an eight-bed intermediate care unit (IMC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to and managing any Rapid Responses or Codes
- Assessing patients and developing appropriate plans as needed for any acute events or changes in patient status
- Coordinating with nursing staff and responding to questions/concerns as needed
- Providing appropriate hand-off/sign-out at the conclusion of their shift to the day team
- Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
- Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projects

- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred for PA
- Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA for PA
- Prior inpatient experience required
- BLS and ACLS required
- Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Masters degree or higher required
- Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC required
- Prior inpatient experience required
- BLS and ACLS required

Compensation and Benefits:
As a respected member of our healthcare team, this position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus additional benefits including:
- CME Reimbursement: Receive up to $2,500/year for Continuing Medical Education.
- Work/Life Balance: Enjoy schedule of 7 days on/7 days off, 12-hour night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Generous PTO: Accrual starts at 25 days/year, to be used for vacations, sickness, holidays, and personal matters.
