About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Perishable Specialist to join our team at H-E-B. As a Perishable Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our customers receive the freshest and highest-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by answering customer questions, assisting with product selections, and taking orders.
  • Food Service: Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products, including slicing, packaging, labeling, and rotating products.
  • Sales: Merchandise products effectively, use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs, and build department sales.
  • Food Safety / Sanitation: Clean and sanitize display cases, operate and maintain equipment, and comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1+ years of related experience in a grocery or retail environment.
  • Skills: Strong customer service skills, communication and interpersonal skills, reading and writing skills, and planning and organizing skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent standing, walking, and reaching. The Perishable Specialist will also be exposed to wet and cold conditions, and may be required to lift up to 90 pounds.
