Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Dishroom Assistant to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a key member of our food service staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our dishrooms.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to food preparation, cleaning, and sanitizing of equipment and work areas. This may include receiving and storing food supplies, weighing or measuring ingredients, preparing and serving food, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize all dishware, utensils, and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and serve food in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in designated areas.
  • Measure and weigh ingredients as required for food preparation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff by adhering to infection control practices and reporting any hazards or concerns to management.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Availability to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
