Job Title: Police Cadet

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Police Cadet. As a Police Cadet, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in law enforcement and public service.

Job Summary:

The Police Cadet will assist the Placentia Police Department with a wide range of non-sworn duties and routine law enforcement support tasks. This is a part-time, at-will position with a maximum of 29 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform record keeping and clerical tasks, including distributing mail and copying records.
  • Assist parties at the public counter, answering basic questions and gathering information.
  • Enforce City parking regulations and issue parking citations as needed.
  • Organize and verify records packages for misdemeanor and felony cases.
  • Conduct authorized searches for records and update files.
  • Fingerprint applicants and process identification photographs.
  • Assist in delivering public communications programs.
  • Maintain statistical reports and records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of the G.E.D.
  • One year of public contact experience is highly desirable.
  • A valid Class C California driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
Working Conditions:

The Police Cadet will work primarily in an office setting with occasional exposure to traffic and variable weather conditions.
