Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing emergency and scheduled psychiatric evaluations, individual therapy, group therapy, and case-management functions to clients in mental health programs associated with our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Intake Interviews and Evaluations: Conduct thorough intake interviews and psychosocial and mental status evaluations for primary psychiatric triage and care.
  • Develop Individualized Plans of Care: Develop individualized plans of care for each client in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide Therapy and Case Management: Provide individual therapy, group therapy, and case management functions to clients.
  • Monitor Client Progress: Monitor clients' responses to treatment and revise the plan of care as needed.
  • Collaborate with Treatment Team: Collaborate with the Psychiatrist, Director of Behavioral Health Services, referral sources, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Document Client Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with Behavioral Health Services policies.
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement, promotion, and provision of services, including marketing.
  • Maintain Positive Relationships: Maintain positive customer and staff relations.
  • Strive for Excellence: Strive to achieve excellence of service as described in the CARE Manual.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Respond to emergencies and crises, including Shore Health System codes.
  • Comply with Laws and Regulations: Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations, and maintain the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing, social work, or counseling required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of outpatient psychiatric counseling or social work experience in a mental health setting, preferred.
  • License/Certification: LCSW (Licensed Certified Social Worker) or LCPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) required. Candidates with LGSW or LGPC will be considered, but must receive LCSW or LCPC within 1 year.
