Senior Bioinformatics Engineer for Cancer Research

At Vets Hired, we are seeking a skilled Senior Bioinformatics Engineer to join our Computational Oncology Service.
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing data processing pipelines and designing data platforms for cancer genomics and imaging studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-performance data processing pipelines using Python and Snakemake or Nextflow.
- Collaborate with scientists and clinicians to design and implement data models and workflows.
- Maintain and improve existing data platforms using state-of-the-art technologies and frameworks.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies to support novel scientific inquiries.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years of experience (PhD preferred).
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with R.
- Experience building and maintaining environments using pip, conda, and Docker.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
